Keep track of work completed.

We are finishing our first week of Distance Learning and there are some students that are doing a great job of staying on top of their responsibilities and finishing their work.  While we have not been given updated information on putting in actual scores in to Illuminate Gradebook, I have come up with a way for you as parents to stay on top of your child's efforts:
  1. I have created a new gradebook titled "19-20 Distance Learning"
  2. I have already added the math lessons and Phantom Tollbooth lessons to the gradebook.  I will be adding Achieve and Social Studies this weekend.
  3. Each assignment has been given a place holder point value of "1".  If we get updated information about grading, this allows me to easily change the point value.
    1. I will grade all material.  If I see issues with work completed, I will schedule a 1-1 with the student.
    2. If the work is turned-in, they will get full credit.
  4. When you check grade in Illuminate, you are looking for green boxes.  This means they have turned-in the work; if you see gray boxes, this means they have not turned-in the work.
Hopefully this will be another opportunity for your student, and you, to keep track of their work completion as they continue to prepare themselves for 6th grade.  This will also help you create a positive routine of checking Illuminate consistently (I recommend checking every Wednesday and Friday.)

You can access Illuminate from here.

If you do not have an Illuminate Account, please let me know and I will help get you setup.
